Worcester Beekeepers' blog

CHAIRMANS CHAT

Its December and by now our bees should be well fed and tucked up ready for colder times. At your Bastonford apiary we have had a very good honey crop in 2020 with some 75kgs of honey either in jars or in buckets ready for distribution. So if you require any of your apiaries honey please contact Vicky , Roy or myself. The training apiary looks in very good condition at the moment and all hives look fair for winter except one which we hope will make it through. In the new year we will be taking 2 hives to the Worcester Crematoriums ‘Natural Burial Site’. We will be publicizing this on our website and Worcester Crematorium will have us in the local press. This may attract new members which are always welcome.

There is also better news on the Covid front with the start of a new vaccine. However we must not let our guard down and social distancing and the wearing of face masks must be second nature to us until such time we can get back to normal. As the year progresses we will begin apiary visits and get the training program back on track. STAY SAFE STAY WELL AND A VERY HAPPY VACCINE TO ALL.
